چکیده
Background: Endometrial hyperplasia (EH) is considered a heterogeneous pre-neoplastic clinical entity characterized by an abnormal glandular proliferation, with less than half of the tissue area occupied stroma. The aim this retrospective study was to evaluate correlation between histological diagnosis atypical endometrial (AEH) obtained through office hysteroscopy (OH) or uterine dilation and curettage (D&C) definitive evaluation after hysterectomy. Methods: Among 112 patients EH, 45 (40%) underwent 67 (60%) curettage. Results: diagnostic accuracy OH very high: in particular, it showed coincidence 87% cases hysteroscopy. curettage, instead, had only 14% cases. Conclusion: Office ideal procedure for both follow-up hyperplasia.

Diagnostic accuracy of endometrial curettage in endometrial pathology.
BACKGROUND Abnormal uterine bleeding is one of the most frequent problems in life of an adult female. Uterine curettage or biopsy remains a preferred sampling procedure for diagnosis of the endometrial pathology. The objective of this study was to compare the sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value of endometrial curettage. PATIENTS AND METHODS This validation study w...
متن کاملIncidence of positive peritoneal cytology in patients with endometrial carcinoma after hysteroscopy vs. dilatation and curettage
BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to compare the frequency of positive peritoneal washings in endometrial cancer patients after either hysteroscopy (HSC) or dilatation and curettage (D&C). PATIENTS AND METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis of 227 patients who underwent either HSC (N = 144) or D&C (N = 83) and were diagnosed with endometrial carcinoma at the University Medical Centre...
متن کاملHysteroscopic inspection and total curettage are insufficient for discriminating endometrial cancer from atypical endometrial hyperplasia.
Endometrial cancer (EC) is the most prevalent gynecologic malignancy in Japan. Atypical endometrial hyperplasia (AEH) is viewed as the premalignant lesion of EC, however it is often difficult to distinguish EC from AEH. The rate of concurrent EC in women diagnosed preoperatively with AEH based on endometrial biopsy was reported as 17-52%. Although hysteroscopic inspection and total curettage...

MATERIAL AND METHODS We analysed a group of 204 patients, of whom 160 (78.43%) underwent surgical treatment for cancer of the corpus u...
متن کاملOutpatient endometrial biopsy with Pipelle vs diagnostic dilatation and curettage.
BACKGROUND Pipelle is a silastic curette which does not require a tenaculum or straightening of the cervical fundus axis because of its flexibility and does not require general anaesthesia, whereas Dilatation and curettage (D&C) requires hospitalization and general anaesthesia along with the problem of postoperative pain. The objective of the study was to assess the effectiveness of Pipelle sam...
